(BE) Les Amis du Clavecin: Festival "Le Clavecin en fête" 22nd Year (4 Mar-1 Jun 2012)
“Le Clavecin en fête, a spring festival held in some of the most beautiful venues in Walloon Brabant and in Brussels, is celebrating its 22nd anniversary, this year.
The traditional venue of these concerts is the beautiful romanesque church of Tourinnes-la-Grosse, from which the festival derives its name. But the little church of Upigny provides an alternative venue when the intimate character of the works on the program requires one.
In the wake of the festival, there are also "The Harpsichord on Thursdays" and the "Espace Mikrokosmos", whose programs are a perfect foil for those of "The Harpsichord at Tourinnes".
(US) Helios Early Opera Concert: "David et Jonathas" (Marc-Antoine Charpentier) (26-27 jan 2012)
Location: First Church Congregational, Cambridge MA, US
“Helios Early Opera makes its debut with Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s grand biblical drama David et Jonathas. A tragic love story between the future king of Israel and the doomed Jonathan, son of King Saul, David et Jonathas is one of only two full-length operas by one of the most fascinating composers of the seventeenth century. Full of psychological intensity, Bretonneau’s libretto provides a gripping drama that is highlighted by Charpentier’s dazzlingly innovative and powerful score.”

For people who cherish silence and gregorian chant Watou has become a halting-place and a pilgrim’s resort. ”
