Workshops/Festivals 2010

Join in the fun at the 2010 edition of Lute Society of America’s Summer Seminar! This year, the seminar will explore the lute in Italy from the 15th through 18th centuries. (Okay, there will be lots of other lute music too!) The event will feature a distinguished faculty of lute performers, musicological specialists, and vocal coaches.

The faculty includes Robert Barto, soprano Ellen Hargis, soprano Carrie Henneman Shaw, Ronn McFarlane, Edward Martin, Nigel North, Pat O’Brien, Paul O’Dette, luthier Andy Rutherford, Stephen Stubbs, Crawford Young , and the Venere Lute Quartet - including Douglas Freundlich, Gail Gillispie, Christopher Morrongiello, and Phillip Rukavina.

The event will take place on the beautiful campus of Case Western Reserve University, located in Cleveland, Ohio. The week will be filled (but rest assured, not too filled) with a variety of courses and concerts sure to satisfy lutenists of every interest and at any level of development.

For more information visit the Lute Society of America website.
